GTA Partners are an inclusive constituency of pre-competitive supply-chain companies and retailers with a substantial interest in improving the sustainability of the tuna sector and are actively committed to supporting GTA campaigns. Our Partners span every continent, and currently account for around 32% of the global tuna trade.
We recruit partners from several industries including food services, retailers, brand manufacturers, processors, and suppliers. We cannot, however, accept applications from fishing/vessel organisations.
As a Partner of the GTA, it will be expected that your company shares the same dedication to the GTA’s core principles of: tuna traceability, environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
Partners should also subscribe to the GTA’s Five Year Strategy, take steps towards fulfilling the objectives contained within it, and report their progress anonymously with the GTA, who will collate it and publish it in the public domain as part of its annual progress-tracking exercise.
The relationship between the GTA and its Partners is synergistic. Partners are encouraged to be active participants in shaping and amplifying GTA campaigns. In return, the GTA provides exclusive toolkits, training, resources, and information as well as a forum for discussion with other Partners based in the “Partner Portal” on our website.
What makes the GTA different is that we want to invest our time and resources into our Partners’ development, educating them on industry-related issues and facilitating their advocacy, enabling them to feel like active participants as opposed to offering support in name-only. In return, the GTA gains an increase in its collective influence and global reach.
Questions marked with an asterisk are required for submission. Please be aware that the annual partnership fee is €4,500, and applications are subject to approval by the Partner Advisory Group.

Very few global tuna stocks have sufficient management procedures in place to ensure current viability and continued resilience of their stocks. This makes sourcing challenging and potentially risky for companies. We are here to help you understand and improve your tuna supply chains, minimizing these risks and ensuring long-term sustainability!
We offer our Partners significant support in improving both their specific supply chains and tuna fisheries governance at a broader scale.
We also provide many tangible benefits to our Partners, including hands-on resources for improvement, educational materials, and industry-wide opportunities for collaboration!
The GTA is unique because of our agility, focus, and industry focus. We are here for you; let us support your tuna sustainability journey!
